Position Overview-.NET Associate Programmer/Analyst

Concordia Publishing House (CPH), the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is seeking a .NET Associate Programmer/Analyst in our Business Systems group to assist with the development, production and maintenance support for all mission-critical Business Systems.

Specific duties include:
•Work with vendors and others as needed to maintain peak operability of the CPH Business Systems, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
◦Implementing changes to keep pace with technology trends and to avoid obsolescence
◦Investigating and resolving bugs and other software errors
◦Maintaining adequate backups and archives of software media
◦Installing software upgrades and enhancements as necessary

•Work with vendors and others as needed to improve and enhance the functionality, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
◦Identifying ways to improve the systems to benefit CPH users
◦Adding new features/enhancements (both analysis/design and programming)

•Lead project teams as requested, providing knowledge of various applications, and leading the development of functional and detail design specifications. Work with the team to provide support for the development of project timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
•Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
•Three years of experience in a comparable position. Broad knowledge of microcomputers, LAN's, Internet and office productivity tools.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical people.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Must be conversant with database applications.
•Demonstrated skill in the ability to manage multiple projects.
•.Net programming utilizing an object-oriented approach
•VB.NET and C# coding experience
•ASP and ASP.NET coding experience
•SQL (Structured Query Language), both MS Access and SQL Server versions
•Relational database design and normalization using MS Access or SQL Server
•Crystal Reports Developer Edition, and how to incorporate it into Windows applications
