Position Overview-The Community Facilitator for the Hopeful Neighborhood Project will serve as an important member of the Community Development team. The primary role of this position is to serve as a point of contact for The Hopeful Neighborhood Project. This new program is a critical part of the three-fold outreach philosophy of Lutheran Hour Ministries. The Community Facilitator will assist in the roll out of this program by establishing trusting relationships with groups and individuals inside and outside of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and is responsible for supporting individuals who are working to further the greater good in their neighborhood; viewing all people as gifts of God with gifts to share. Through these relationships, he/she will assist in the networking and connection with other groups in the Hopeful Neighborhood Project.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Christian
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, constituent management software, and basic website administration
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate new concepts in easily accessible ways
• Effective multi-tasking, problem solving, and project management skills
• Strong desire to learn and implement new ideas both personally and professionally
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to compassionately work with people from a variety of backgrounds, especially ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to lead groups of individuals in projects furthering the greater good in their neighborhood
