Position Overview-Concordia Publishing House (CPH), the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is seeking a Manager, Accounting. This position is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable and Inventory Control departments, in addition to assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system.

The essential functions of this position are as follows:

•Manage the areas of Accounts Payable and Inventory Control. Lead, train, and develop staff for maximum effectiveness in support of the department goals.
•Manage the disbursement of funds for goods and services, ensuring company policy concerning internal controls on disbursements are followed.
•Responsible for assisting with testing, implementing, and resolving problems associated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/knk Publishing modules.
•Oversee the Royalty System and processing cycles.
•Responsible for the design and maintenance of Jet reports and report distribution.
•Provide technical assistance with the annual budget preparation.
•Analyze and recommend actions for CPH’s inventory.
•Ensure slow moving inventory items are identified and inventory is valued at the lower of cost or market as validation of company inventory values.
•Ensure CPH’s inventory is physically counted on an annual basis and establish guidelines for inventory counts for auditor observation.
•Determine Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) of first printing and all reprints of inventory products.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

•Bachelor’s degree in account, CPA or MBA preferred.
•Prior supervisory experience.
•Five or more years of experience in an accounting environment.
•Experience with automated accounting systems.
•Experience with Microsoft Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics NAV software.
•Detail Oriented.
•Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
•Strong analytical skills.
•Excellent written and oral communication.
•Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
•Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
•Able to analyze complex problems.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
