Position Overview-Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, MO, seeks applicants and nominations to serve as Vice President of Publishing to oversee, for congregations and individuals, the development of Gospel resources that are faithful to the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions and support the mission of Concordia Publishing House. This position leads the editorial division and is responsible for ensuring the materials produced by CPH comport with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions and will be approved for distribution via the doctrinal review process. CPH provides resources for Christian education and worship, children and family resources, as well as general and specialty periodicals, including devotional materials and professional resources for teachers, pastors, and lay leaders.

The Essential Functions of the Vice President of Publishing are:
● Provides leadership for, as well as theological oversight of, all CPH products and publications.
● Develop the division’s operations plan and budget based on CPH’s strategic objectives.
● Oversee day-to-day operations of each department within the division to ensure all Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are being met.
● Assists the President & CEO with consultations and correspondence; attends conferences and conventions; leads workshops.
● Collaborates with marketing/promotion/sales personnel on publication plans.
● Coordinates CPH publications with Synodical programs through consultations with program unit leaders.
● Lead, train, and develop staff for maximum effectiveness in support of the division and department goals.

To be considered for this position, applicants or nominees:
● Must be an ordained minister on the roster of the LCMS.
● Must have 10 years of professional ministry experience in the LCMS.
● Must completely and wholeheartedly, without reservation, be committed to the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions and the doctrinal positions of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
● Must be adept at managing professional and creative staff.
● Must have superior communication and editing skills.
● Must have a basic understanding of business principles and procedures.
● Must be able to provide leadership for and collaborate with members of a team during the project development process.
● Must have proficient computer skills.
