Position Overview-Concordia Publishing House (CPH), the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is seeking a Developer who will collaborate with the team as they build and maintain church-focused applications. This position is responsible for the quality and maintainability of our source code and should be dedicated to learning and improving their craft.

Specific duties include:

Developing features and improvements based on customer feedback and internal collaboration.
Diagnosing and addressing bugs encountered by users.
Contributing to the design (visual and architectural) of the product.
Maintaining online components of the product (e.g., database backups, web-based data entry, automated product updates). Providing technical assistance and training to software support technicians assisting customers.
Learning new techniques and languages to grow as a developer.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable experience.
Experience developing applications for the Microsoft Windows platforms using C# and the .NET framework, as well as a familiarity with VB.NET, VB6, and ASP.NET.
Working knowledge of relational databases and ability to read and write SQL queries (both Access and SQL Server).
Experience using Crystal Reports to design, generate, and integrate advanced reports into a Windows or web application preferred.
Familiarity with foundational Web technologies (HTTP, DNS, Client-Server architecture, etc.).
A basic understanding of web client technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with DevOps/Git and using version control to share and collaborate on code.
Ability to apply the principles of object-oriented programming.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
