Position Overview-Concordia Publishing House is seeking a full-time Collector. This position is responsible for providing customer credit assistance via the phone, reviewing and releasing orders on credit hold, and processing payments. Other duties included reviewing and contacting customers with past due accounts with a high level of professionalism.

Specific duties include:
• Answering inbound phone lines; responding to customer inquiries, processing payments, sending copies of invoices, resolving discrepancies, and documenting notes from the call.
• Processing daily credit holds, with appropriate follow up.
• Evaluating all 60+ days past due accounts and take appropriate action.
• Reviewing all past due customer accounts with standing/perpetual orders and follow up with appropriate action.
• Assisting in processing payments from the Lockbox. Following-up on discrepancies and questions.
• Responding to customer messages.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma and two or more years of college, bachelor’s degree in business/accounting preferred.
• One year of customer service experience and previous experience working in credit and collection is preferred.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Ability to communicate effectively and has strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excels at customer service and stays calm and professional.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills, disciplined, self-starter, strong PC skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
