The Spiritual Life Leader is a full-time position of this LCMS RSO and will have the minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic program, experience, and skills in working with children and teens. He or she will be required to pass background checks as required by the Indiana Department of Child Services, have ability to work in a team setting and participate in community activities. The Spiritual Life Leader does spiritual life assessments of youth in residential care and spiritual life counseling; collaborates with staff and volunteers; manages agency and community use of the Chapel; leads and/or schedules chapel leaders for weekly Chapels and Bible Studies; arranges Sending Services for clients and Sending Services or Blessings for staff as requested. Orients new employees regarding spiritual care programs; oversees visits by church groups, pastors, and volunteers for special activities; provides information regarding Spiritual Life activities to churches and community; and hosts annual seminar. The Spiritual Life Director reports to the LCFS Executive Director; attends administrative, volunteer and clinical meetings as requested; shares duties with the LCFS part-time LCMS Chaplain and assists the efforts of the Executive Director and Grant Writer of the LCFS Foundation in funding the Spiritual Life programs.
