Position Overview-Full-Time
Concordia Publishing House (CPH), the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is seeking a Machine Operator/Order Processor. This position is responsible for operating imprint, mail plant or other machinery as needed to complete orders. As demand dictates, this position will also be called upon to pick or pack orders, and move inventory in the warehouse, distribution center and receiving. Inventory movement is done via use of material handling equipment, either an electric fork truck or transporter. The processing of orders and movement of inventory is directed with the aid of an RF Scanner for input and output of data into the computer system.

Specific duties include:

Effectively set-up and operate processing equipment.
Complete both machine & non-machine projects.
Work with purpose and in a manner consistent with achieving project goals.
Follow written or verbal instructions for each project by providing and assuring accuracy and quality in the end product.
Pick and pack orders.
Move materials and inventory as guided by the computer system and scanners.
Work in a safe manner following all safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
Possess basic mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently or in a group.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to operate production machinery and material handling equipment.
Must have a current chauffer's license and ability to drive 24' box truck.
