Position Overview-Full-Time
Concordia Publishing House (CPH), the publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), is seeking Maintenance Technician, who will be responsible for maintenance repair and preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment throughout the building. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with other members of the Facilities Department to accomplish immediate and ongoing maintenance and construction needs on company property. This position is responsible for identifying new ways for improving timeliness, cost savings, and streamlining procedures, and is on call 24/7.

Specific duties include:

Perform necessary repairs and diagnose problems with equipment such as: staged boilers, chillers, domestic hot water boilers, building plumbing system, air compressors, and conveyors.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain a schedule.
Inspect and repair cooling tower-related piping and valves in air conditioning system.
Install and maintain lawn sprinkler systems, as well as the building fire sprinklers and know location of risers and what areas they protect.
Monitor and replace air filters. Clean coils, check belts, and lubricate bearings.
Notify management concerning needed repairs to the building and equipment.
Install compressed air supply and vacuum supply piping, as necessary.
Install water supply lines and tend to clogged drains.
Perform repairs on plumbing and mechanical systems. Contact vendors as necessary.
Maintain restroom plumbing, faucets, flush valves, water shut offs, and water piping throughout the building.
Utilize lockout/tagout procedure when working on equipment.
Monitor equipment controls for all automated equipment on Auto Matrix and VIPX systems and make necessary adjustments.
Work in a safe manner following all company safety procedures and using all PPE equipment required for the job being performed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Two-year certificate from college or trade school along with a minimum of two years of related experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license, an EPA Universal Technician certification, and a sprinkler license from the City of St. Louis, MO.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics and estimate materials for a job.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate ideas to others.
Knowledge of compressed air equipment and controls.
Experience with HVAC systems.
Must have general construction knowledge.
Ability to install piping.
Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
