Position Overview-Concordia Publishing House is seeking an experienced Developer to join the Emerging Products (EP) team. The EP team is responsible for the creation and maintenance of customer-facing applications. They are responsible for the internal and external quality of our source code. They work as a team and are dedicated to learning and improving their craft.

Specific duties include:

Develop new features guided by automated tests
Resolve alerts in the target time
Refactor source code to clarify its intent
Contribute to the design (visual and architectural) of our projects
Learn new techniques or languages to grow as a developer

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in computer science with one year of experience in programming. A
basic understanding of web development (HTTP, DNS, Client—Server architecture, etc.)
Competent with Ruby on Rails, HTML, and CSS
Experience with modern (ES6+) JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (Ember.js preferred)
Experience working with applications targeting mobile platforms; working knowledge of Swift and/or Kotlin a plus
Competent with Git, with Git-based workflows, and with deploying from version control
Competent with the Unix command line
A working knowledge of relational databases; can read and write SQL queries
Can write automated tests and apply the principles of object-oriented programming
