Responsibilities
A successful Director/Teacher will educate and inspire our young students in fundamental concepts as they prepare for the next stage of formal education. He or she will provide opportunities and activities to help children develop a healthy self-concept as a precious child of God. He or she will need to prepare and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning experiences that help children grow spiritually, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. As the Director/Teacher, he or she will need to be an effective communicator as he or she develops relationships with both prospective and current students’ families. The Director/Teacher will also be responsible for adhering to an annual budget. The Director/Teacher will report to the Board of Directors and Senior Pastor.

Qualifications
• At least 21 years of age
• A High School diploma or equivalency. Associates/Bachelor Degree related to Early Childhood Education would be helpful, but a candidate with experience in preschool or child care will be considered.
• Possess skill and competencies to assume direct responsibilities for planning and facilitating daily learning activities for three-year-olds and four-year-olds.
• Demonstrate desire and ability to share the tenets of the Christian faith with preschool students and families. Our congregation is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). Applicants for the Director/Teacher position are not required to be a member of an LCMS congregation, but should have knowledge and willingness to teach according to our doctrinal beliefs.

Demonstrate organization in classroom management and the preschool as a whole
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, in some circumstances

Starting
August 1, 2024 with job shadowing opportunities available until June 15

Hours
Classes are in session Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Duties will require the Director/Teacher to work outside of classroom hours. Total work hours may vary by week, but should average 25 - 30 hours per week. Currently, our preschool follows the Williamsville/Sherman public school calendar, so days off will include those dates. The Director/Teacher will report August 1 - June 15 each year.

Salary
$22,000 - $26,000 annually, paid August 16 - June 1
