Position Overview-Electrician Full Time

Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, knowledge of DC and AC current and low voltage wiring and other areas, both inside and outside of building. Identify new ways for improving timeliness, cost savings, and procedure streamlining.

Specific duties include:
• Install power supply wiring and conduit as needed throughout the building.
• Work in a safe manner following all company safety procedures and using all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the job being performed.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus’ such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, as well as faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers as necessary to determine appropriate course of action.
• Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices, photo eyes and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
• Replace electric motors.
• Install push buttons and press keys on programmable controller to program automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
• Plan layout and estimates of wiring, switches, receptacles, conduit, and electrical apparatus throughout building for additions moves and changes to equipment and building design.
• Diagnosis and repair conveyor system.
• Maintain generator so it is operational in event of power failure.
• Power down main switch in event of power outage.
• Utilize lock out tag out procedures when working on equipment.
• Identify and mark all panel boxes and circuits within boxes and keep all boxes in adequate serviceable condition.
• Schedule all lighting on designated timers.
• Weekly walk around the building to make sure all lights are still operating properly /and no bulbs are burnt out.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Knowledge of AC / DC circuits and control wiring.
• Ability to trouble shoot problems.
• Knowledge of 3-phase industrial wiring.
• Knowledge of control wiring.
• Knowledge of conduit bending.
• Skilled with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and estimate materials for a job.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate ideas to others.
• Ability to operate snow removal equipment.
• Willingness to perform duties safely.
• Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
• Two years related experience and/or training.
• Associate degree from two year college or technical school, or equivalent
•Industrial electrical license from City of St. Louis, MO.
