Position Overview - | OVERVIEW: Our Middle School Social Studies Teacher will teach in a collaborative, innovative, personalized learning model for 5th-8th grade students. Their essential responsibility is to develop creative learning opportunities for students’ academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth while being a champion for St. John's unique personalized learning model, which prioritizes the teacher as a mentor. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ◠Possess strong Christian values and a desire to share God’s love with children. ◠Bachelor’s degree required. ◠Current state teaching certification in one or more of the following areas: middle, secondary, elementary, or special education. Social Studies specialty preferred but not required. ◠Ability to evaluate students’ needs through data interpretation, observation, and personal interaction. ◠Prior experience in a personalized learning environment and/or experience utilizing standards-based grading, preferred. ◠Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with empathy, clarity, and respect with students, parents, coworkers, and leaders.
