Position Overview-Overview Redeemer Nixa Preschool in Nixa, MO is seeking a part-time Preschool Aide. In a Christ-centered learning environment, our preschool provides a wide variety of learning experiences and opportunities to explore the world of knowledge. As an outreach of our church, Redeemer Lutheran Church, with two locations (One in Springfield and one in Nixa), the preschool has connected families to the love of Jesus Christ for almost 20 years. Responsibilities • Supervises the classroom when the teacher is out of the room. • Oversees unstructured free play. • Works with teachers to ensure organization of free play corresponds to scheduled structured activities. • Shares the love of Jesus • Through interaction and example, supports and promotes educational and social-emotional growth and recognizes strengths of the child. • Assists in ensuring nutrition and self-care practices are incorporated into the classroom routines for children to develop healthy habits. (meals/snacks, bathroom break, proper handwashing) • Builds positive relationships with families that encourage engagement in their child’s learning. • Performs other duties necessary to the smooth functioning of the facility as assigned by the Lead Teacher or the Director. (prepares classroom materials) • Maintains confidentiality in all matters relating to children, families, and staff. • Participating in family events and representing our preschool Qualifications • At least 18 years old (required) • A High School diploma or equivalency. • Possess skill and competencies to assist teachers with planning and facilitating daily learning activities for three-year-olds and four-year-olds. • Demonstrate desire and ability to share the tenets of the Christian faith with preschool students and families. Our congregation is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). Applicants for the Teacher position are not required to be a member of an LCMS congregation, but should have knowledge and willingness to teach according to our doctrinal beliefs. • Exhibit love, patience, and respect for children, parents, and staff • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, in some circumstances • A background check and interview will be conducted on all applicants. Personal references will also be contacted. Starting August 12, 2024. Employees are at-will and will not be signing any contracts for employment. Hours Classes are in session Monday through Friday from 8AM - 12:30 AM. Total work hours may vary by week, but should average 25 - 30 hours per week. Currently, our preschool follows the public school calendar pretty closely, so days off will include those dates.
