Position: International Accounting Clerk

The International Accounting Clerk serves as the primary source for auditing and recording monthly financial reports for all international ministry centers; prepares & executes international and domestic wire transfers; tracks fixed assets; and assists the Associate Director with annual audit and other job-related duties as assigned.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Audit monthly financial statements from International Offices, analyzing cash differences, notifying International Directors of material discrepancies, and corresponding with the offices to resolve noted issues.
  • Journalize International Ministry Center Income and Expenses by the 20th of each month and coordinate the transfer of monthly subsidy payments.
  • Resolve exceptions, questions, and irregularities regarding all areas of international financial reports, informing the Associate Director and International Directors of significant findings.
  • Calculate annual currency adjustments for International Ministry centers and prepare journal entries.
  • Prepare and file annual IRS Foreign Bank Account Report (FBAR).
  • Process international and domestic wire transfers.
  • Manage fixed asset activity including monthly additions, disposals, and depreciation entries and reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers and co-workers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Associate Director of Accounting on annual audit work.
  • Provide accounting research and analysis as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of two years of accounting or related business experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of or experience with international languages and currency.
  • International perspective on communication from different cultures.
  • Familiarization with automated accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus).
  • Experience with banking wire transfer processes.

Location:

Our office is located in St. Louis, MO, but LHM offers a flexible hybrid work environment.
