Position Overview

The Executive Director of the Lutheran Camp Association, Inc. (Camp Lutherhaven) is tasked with acting as the principal executive officer in the management, supervision, and control of the program, business, personnel, and site affairs of Camp Lutherhaven.

Qualifications

• Dedicated Christian with a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and is willing to share their faith in Christ with others.
• Member in good standing with a Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod congregation.
• Demonstrates support and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Camp Lutherhaven.
• Bachelor’s degree required; ministry, business administration, or non-profit management/leadership preferred.
• Demonstrates a servant’s heart with integrity, joy, enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, self-control, a willingness to learn, and a sense of spiritual direction.
• Proficient in casting a vision, strategic planning, financial planning, fundraising, program development, and marketing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Computer knowledge, such as accounting, office management, desktop publishing, database, and website management.
• Has a warm and friendly personality with a proven ability to relate well with a variety of people.
• Possesses a strong sense of Christian stewardship and conservation.
• Demonstrates a willingness and ability to adjust to the resources, programs, organizational structure, location, and overall environment of Camp Lutherhaven.
• Ability to recognize and resolve problems collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Works both independently and as a team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of successful experience serving in outdoor ministry.
• Advanced college degree.
• Experience with child development practices and procedures.
• Skills and experience in worship and song-leading.
